Sorry it has been so long since my last blog. We arrived in Swaziland last Saturday afternoon. This is the first off-day we have had, and therefore the first chance I've had internet access. I'm so thrilled that I am finally here for an extended amount of time, until May 15th that is. First of all, I will no longer be writing about living conditions with no electricity and no running water. We have moved up in our living conditions to say the least. We are no longer living in the rural area on a homestead. Now we leave close to town in a very nice two-story house. We have several rooms and sleep about four to a room, which is better than the normal twenty which we were accustomed to. We very thankful for our new home.
This first week has been a mix of several things for us. On Monday we all had to figure out public transportation in order to get to our ministry sites. Some people can walk to their ministry and others have to take public for thirty minutes to get there. We are ministering all over the place. So this day was a long adventure to say the least, but I'm getting the hand of it. Over the next few days I did some things with the purses and visited some care points. I got to see my good friend Thulie and am going to her house tomorrow afternoon to give her and her children their Christmas presents from America. With some of the money that some of you donated, I was able to buy her and her four children a bundle of new clothes each. I'm so excited about giving it to them! At the care point I went to on Thursday, called Timbutini, I was able to pass out vitamins to all of the children there. They were precious and all lined up in a straight line and patiently waited for the "treat". I plan on doing this every time I visit a care point. I really look forward to next week and getting more set in my ministry with the purses and the ladies. I am planning on shipping a large number of purses home soon to my mom to distribute for me. So get in contact with her if you are interested, which you should be because they are awesome!
Also, I know that some of you are desiring to send more monetary donations. I have still not been able to get prices from the staff here, but I do know that school fees is one of the biggest needs. Please continue to be patient with me on this; there are several people I have to go through to get this information and for it to be accurate.
Thank you as always for your support and constant love and encouragement. ~Stacie
