I do not have too much to write about at this moment, for I was sick in bed for most of the last few days. I have just had flu-like symptoms and have been resting to get better as soon as possible. So please continue in your prayers for my health as I'm here; it is very discouraging to be ill and miss out ministry.
I did get out of the house Sunday, though, for church, and it was no ordinary service. One of the missionaries here from AIM was married to one of the native Swazi women in a service in church on Sunday. It was an incredible experience to be part of a wedding in such a different culture from our own. Some of the highlights for me were the bridesmaids and groomsmen dancing down the aisle, the continuous singing throughout the service and the feast held afterwards for the entire community. It was quite an event!
I have mentioned on some occasions how the Lord continuously exceeds my expectations on this trip. Well, He is still at it. Its been awesome for me to see that my ministry is just as much at home in America as it is here in Africa. By this, I mean that the Lord has placed a desire upon my heart and has opened the doors for me to raise awareness and inform people of some of the conditions in Africa, along with what they can do to help. Also it has been very good to share with other believers that what I am doing is not something extraordinary by any means. This is the way the life of a Christian should look. We should all, no matter where we are, be helping the hungry, hurting, outcast and poor. We should always be seeking out how we can assist the orphan and the widow. Jesus' teachings and His lifestyle are all about this. Sometimes things get in the way, but as I've been reading about the Lord's life on earth; it seems pretty simple. His message is very clear, and I definitely have a call on my life to live like Him. So I praise God over and over for this opportunity to be here now. I don't know what my future will look like, but that doesn't matter because I just want to look like Him.
