This past Saturday, which I had previously blogged about, did indeed
turn out to be a huge success. It was a beautiful day, and all of the
ladies arrived wearing their nicest dresses and looking beautiful. We
had tea first then began shopping in our "store". We made a store out
of one of the bedrooms in our house, and the women would go in two at
a time and shop for an outfit from donated clothes. It was great. They
also took showers throughout the day in our house. Games were next,
which revealed their highly competitive side because all of the
winners received a prize. We had a relay race in which they had to
carry buckets of water on their head and a limbo contest and more. One
of my favorite women, Ruby, won the limbo competition. She is 78 years
old! Once the games were over, the Swaziland Gospel Choir performed .
They were wonderful, and the ladies sang and danced and worshipped
together. I am so thankful that the choir was able to come and bless
us. Then….it was time for the treat of the day, yes I am speaking of
KFC! Swazi people love food even more than Americans; they can eat so
much. Just trust me. So we overloaded their plates with chicken and
rice and vegetables. We even had cake and fruit for dessert. I think
they might have actually gotten full, however you couldn't tell by the
empty dishes. At the end of the day, a lady who is a missionary here
led a Bible study for the women. Then we had door prizes and gave
every woman a necklace as a gift. After that, they loaded up and were
given rides back to their homes in the rural area.
The day could not have gone any better. It was blessed for sure.
Since Saturday, I have met with the ladies twice to make purses. We
have a Bible study every time we meet and always spend time talking
about praises and prayer requests. Both days the women praised God for
that Saturday because they felt loved. That's it. That is all I can
ask for is that these incredible people would have felt loved by
myself and my team and most of all by the Lord they serve so
faithfully. I have fallen in love with them so deeply in just a few
months. I cant imagine how much their real Father loves and cares for
them! Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this day so
wonderful. I could not have asked for more except that you all be a
part of it with me.

LOVE YOU ALL - STACIE
